3D Cakes in Singapore

mydearbakes delights friend with a carousel cake. Can’t go round but promises to taste yummy :P

A chance to put my dear’s artistic skills came when one of her friend wanted a nice unique birthday cake for her birthday. My dear immediately call upon 2 of her close friends (Irene and Puay Leng), also avid bakers, to join in and undertake this challenge.

They finally decided to bake something with a happy carnival feel and all unanimously decided on a carousel.  There were some technical challenges faced during the making of this grand cake. – poles (to support the top platform) were too short (the team ended up having to glue 2 pieces of pocky sticks to make up the height – lesson learnt : use giant pocky sticks and cut to required length) and making sure the top sits right so it doesn’t topple. :S Getting the top of the cake to balance on the beam proved to be the toughest challenge but in the end, the team did it!

And ta-ta – the final outcome :

lo and behold! The final product! People start drooling pls

how much is that pony on the carousel?~ lol

For the centerpiece, the team used the cardboard cynlinder of a paper towel and stuck marshmallows to it. For the sides, we used mini smarties and biscuits sticks.  Horses can be bought from Spotlight

Now, if you don’t mind, I am signing off here to go and buy that cute little pony on that carousel. Ciao!~
